The Dark Series hi-hats are crisp yet dark and project well with a great 'chick' sound and good stick definition. As hi-hats get bigger in size the tone lowers and the wash increases beyond 15" hats. These hi-hats have been described as "hi-hats that sound like bacon" :)
A piece of advice from Red: We advise not playing dark cymbals harder so as to get more volume out of them - no cymbals will thank you for playing them super hard. If you want more volume then buy brighter cymbals. If using IEMs we also suggest making sure that there is plenty of overhead level in your mix to prevent you from overplaying and therefore choking and potentially abusing your cymbals.
