RASMUS WEDE
Rasmus picked up the drumsticks at the age of 8 and has been immersed in percussion ever since. His formative years were spent performing in various Marching Bands across the country, where he developed a deep foundation in snare drum and a wide range of orchestral and marching percussion. These years also introduced him to teaching – a discovery that sparked a lasting passion for music education.
In 2021, Rasmus joined “Det Fynske Slagtøjsakademi” – one of Denmark’s leading amateur percussion ensembles. With the group, he has competed on national and international stages, achieving podium finishes at the Danish, European, and World Championships. Looking ahead, Rasmus is preparing for another round of competition in both the Danish and World Championships in 2026.
Parallel to his ensemble work, Rasmus has also nurtured a love for the drum kit. Since the age of 12, he has explored the instrument in various contexts, and most recently became the full-time drummer in “Kornmod” – a Danish-language original rock band blending elements of folk and indie. The band is currently working on their debut releases and has a string of shows lined up across Denmark in 2025.
While music hasn’t been his profession, Rasmus is fully committed to changing that. He’s currently preparing for entry into the Danish National Academy of Music, with hopes of beginning his studies in 2026 or 2027. Whether as a performer, educator, or a mix of both, Rasmus is determined to build a life around the music that drives him and sharing it with like minded musicians.
